It’s been quiet here, I know. Sorry if you were missing any updates; we have been on a short trip to the UK that I haven’t documented here, but otherwise life has been busy. And there wasn’t a lot of things I thought to be interesting to the readers of this blog.
Our next trip will start soon, and we’ll revisit a place we’ve been to dozens of times: the Languedoc.
To be more precise, the area near Rennes-le-Château; or “the zone”, as some call it. What makes this area so special, you might ask. Well, for me it’s not only the food, the wine, the breathtaking rugged landscape, the relaxed feeling or the amazing hikes; it’s also the many mysteries that are connected to this small village and its surroundings. Mysteries that might be real or invented, for sure, but so many that one can entertain oneself with them for years. Decades even, in my case, and there are many people who have spent even more time trying to unravel the puzzle.
We haven’t been back in a long time. At some point we felt that the zenith had been reached, that the discussions had passed the golden days and that generally everything had been in decline. A few of our older friends had shuffled their mortal coil, too, and so we went on to new adventures. I still think the best days are over, but it will be fun to have a new look and see how much has changed, and how the once tranquil village with its slightly sinister undercurrents now has become a tourist attraction cashing in on seekers of the divine feminine.
But we’ll meet a lot of old friends, and for that I am very grateful. We’re very much looking forward to this trip!
